Ground Zero
When the atomic bomb was detonated over Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, "ground zero" came into our language.  This book is an essay about that event. Its shadow still haunts us, even as our memories of that fateful day fade into history.  To create this book, I used a black and white aerial photograph of Hiroshima taken c. August 6, 1945 that I colorized and manipulated.  These manipulated photographs are mounted on paper board and consist of 12 panels. Using an accordion format, each page is 10 x 12 inches and fully opened it is 144 inches wide.
